RAS AL KHAIMAH: An Emirati, 19, was killed in a ghastly traffic accident when his vehicle was completely burnt after colliding with another vehicle, swerving and then colliding again with a lamppost in Ras Al Khaimah.

According to Brigadier Dr Mohammed Saeed Al Humaidi, Director General of the Central Operations Department, RAK Police, a report on a burning vehicle was received and police patrols and ambulances were sent to the accident site, where it was found that the driver inside the burning vehicle died as a result of the serious injuries he sustained.

Preliminary inspection revealed that the vehicle of the deceased had collided with another vehicle driven by an Arab in his thirties who came from a side road without making sure the road was clear. Although Emirati tried to avoid the other vehicle, but he could not and collided with it partially.

After the collision Emirati’s car swerved and rammed into a lamppost and caught fire.

After the fire had been put out by the civil defence’s fire extinguishing teams, the body was sent to hospital before being handed over to his family for burial, while the file of the accident was transferred to the competent authorities so as to complete the necessary legal procedures.
