SHARJAH: The Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) is planning to establish the first media production training centre that is run completely by persons with disabilities.

The SCHS Media Production Training Center will attract a team of graduates who studied in SCHS for many years or those with disabilities residing in the UAE in order to become productive employees and pioneers in a vast range of media-related operations. They will receive intensive training by qualified specialists on all kinds of media work.

Recently, the SCHS signed a memorandum with Khutwa Media Production to provide intensive training to the centre’s cadres.

The Khutwa Media Production has wide experience and qualified specialists to train persons with disabilities, which increases their opportunities in finding suitable jobs.

According to SCHS, a number of its students who graduated from college are facing difficulties in finding jobs in media corporations because there is no system to train and hire persons with disabilities in these corporations.

SCHS wants to stay tuned with the new media through its Media Production Training Center, which is going to produce motion pictures in attractive ways in order to raise public awareness of disability issues by using the latest techniques in the hands of experienced persons.

As for training, the centre will cooperate with Masarat Centre for Development and Empowerment, which is an affiliate of SCHS, to train persons with disabilities on media production as part of their mutual efforts to integrate them into the workforce. Khutwa Media Production will have a vital role in providing training to persons with disabilities on media production.

The new centre offers intensive training in a number of fields such as photography, video shooting, video editing, graphic design, and animation.
