ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday summoned a TV anchor to provide clarity on revelations he made during his show regarding the suspect in the rape and murder case of 8-year-old Zainab Ansari and other children in Kasur.

Officials said they are investigating whether a suspect arrested in the slaying of eight other girls was linked to an international child-porn ring.

The latest development came days after the arrest of Mohammad Imran, 24, in connection with the rape and killing of Zainab in the city of Kasur.

Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar demanded a report from the investigators after a local TV programme alleged the suspect could be part of a gang that supplied porn videos of children to an international network. Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal pledged to arrest all involved in the porn ring.
