DUBAI: The third UAE Public Policy Forum will take place in Dubai in January 2019, the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government, MBRSG, announced.

Held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, the upcoming Forum, titled ‘Accelerating SDGs Implementation: Future Policy Roadmap’, will take place from 27th-28th January 2019.

The two-day event is being hosted in conjunction with the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority, FCSA. It will gather together experts and specialists from different disciplines around the world to discuss how best to meet sustainable development objectives in light of the innovations of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The UAE Public Policy Forum 2019 will address future impact, policies, challenges and prospects for sustainable development in the UAE. It will discuss how to best formulate strategic action plans that can achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, at the local level, including those contained within the National Agenda for UAE Vision 2021.

Abdullah Lootah, FCSA Director-General, said, “We are delighted to partner with the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government in organising the third edition of the forum, which focuses on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals 2030, as the forum will underline the strategic importance that data and technology play in accelerating achievements towards sustainable development. We would like to thank the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government for their trust and confidence in FCSA to be a key partner in the forum, and the opportunity to share FCSA expertise and knowledge base. FCSA maintains its commitment to work closely with our stakeholders from local and federal government entities and the academic sector in sharing knowledge and building capacity that contributes to shaping the future of beloved nation.”

“The Public Policy Forum is a leading global platform that brings together leaders, decision-makers, experts, specialists and academics from around the world to discuss and contribute to the development of government policies relating to sustainable development. It has a particular focus on formulating strategies that are versatile and flexible enough to accommodate the rapid changes and dynamic shifts that we are witnessing as a result of current scientific and technological advancements,” said Dr Ali Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of MBRSG.

“In line with the ambitious national plans set by the UAE, which include long-term objectives and effective mechanisms for achieving sustainable development, the forum’s sessions will focus on deepening development policies and discuss how to implement these in the era of massive data, Artificial Intelligence, Smart Cities and global digital transformation.”
