DUBAI: Copies of the Wa-Yastamirrul Ataa (Contribution Continues) by Late Dr Abdullah Omran Taryam were distributed during the second edition of the Emirati Media Forum held on Wednesday at Emirates Towers in Dubai.

The availability of the book in a national media assembly like the Emirati Media Forum and its distribution among the participants reflects the attention that the prudent leadership and those in charge of the forum pay to national symbols. Khalid Abdullah Omran Taryam, Chairman of Dar Al Khaleej Press, Printing and Publishing and Editor in Chief of Al Khaleej newspaper, said the book is an opportunity to be more familiar with the progressive thoughts which the late Dr Abdullah charted and believed in.

The book contains articles and speeches written by the late Dr Abdullah which reflected his keenness on conveying a responsible message of commitment to the issues of his country and nation to the local and Arab readers, Taryam said. The articles dealt with various topics including politics, economy and national, GCC and Arab issues, and so did Dr Abdullah’s speeches in the annual conferences of Al Khaleej Studies Centre, Taryam added.

Issues such as national identity, education, journalism and national economy as well as the common concerns of the GCC countries and the Palestinian cause, which was adopted by Dar Al Khaleej since the time it came into existence, were all present in the articles and speeches of Dr Abdullah, who had never forgotten Arab solidarity and the concerns of Arabs wherever they were, Taryam said.

Meanwhile, Muna Bu Samra, Director of Dubai Press Club, said: “It is our duty to remember with all pride and honour the late Dr Abdullah Omran Taryam in all media and press assemblies as a man who was given by Allah such wisdom that contributed to building the press and cultural march in the UAE.”

The book is a treasure of knowledge that depicts more than 40 years of Dr Abdullah’s career and it is very important for the new generation to be familiar with his vast experience, she added, noting that this is why the Dubai Press Club was keen to make the book available to the attendees and guests of the Emirates Media Forum.
