DUBAI: An Asian national committed suicide by hanging himself from a rope in his room in a flat where he lived with colleagues in Bur Dubai, on Monday.

According to Brigadier Abdulla Khadem, director of the Bur Dubai police station, the incident occurred on the same day and month as the deceased was born, Jan.1, 1990. He added, “Instantly on receiving the tipoff, competent teams rushed to the scene where they found the deceased hanging from a rope.”

“He was an employee and according to his colleagues, they celebrated his 28th birthday and witnessed the New Year’s Eve celebrations, but they noticed signs of depression on him, especially that he was suffering from a psychological crisis recently,” Khadem added.

The deceased reportedly entered his room after the ceremony and closed the door. When his friends attempted to open the door to check on him, they found him hanging from a rope fixed to a fan on the ceiling of the room.

The dead body was transferred to forensic medicine and the police examined the scene and reported there was no criminal suspicion. The deceased’s consulate was notified in preparation for the delivery of his body, according to Khadem.
