The Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park) collaborated with American University of Sharjah (AUS) to host the Future of Smart Manufacturing in the emirate. The seminar was attended by a number of scientists, leading industry leaders and specialists from universities in the region.
The forum addressed a number of topics through lectures and panel discussions on the future of research and innovation in Sharjah. It highlighted subjects such as AI Technology, future of Industry 4.0 in the UAE and Cyber Physical Role in Smart Manufacturing.
The industrial transformations and modern production methods are one of the most important technological changes in the world.
The event began with a welcome speech by Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTI Park, during which he spoke about his vision and objectives to create a conducive environment for creativity and innovation to make Sharjah the global hub in the fields of research and technology.
This can be done by supporting the Emirate’s attitudes towards the knowledge economy by developing the innovation system, and assist in applied scientific and technological research to carry out investment activities.
A number of lecturers and specialists spoke during the seminar on the future of smart industrial technologies and how to deal with it. They suggested to create the necessary legislative infrastructure to support future technologies and apply the technology of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Speakers included Dr. Saeed Al Dhaheri, Chairman of Smart World, Dr. Angelika Eksteen, Director of AI Directions, Dr. Ali Abdulrahman, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at American University of Sharjah, and Hamed Ghanim, General Manager of Hitachi.
