The Dubai Land Department (DLD) organised a gathering of real estate developers, in collaboration with Reed MIDEM SAS, to participate in the 31st edition of MIPIM France from March 10 to 13, 2020 under the theme ‘The Future is MIPIM.’ The meetup was held under the theme ‘Dubai at MIPIM,’ and encourages real estate developers to join Dubai’s delegation at the world-renowned real estate exhibition under the umbrella of DLD to represent the Emirate and provide a bright picture of its real estate sector.
Marwan Bin Ghalita, CEO of the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) welcomed the audience in a welcoming speech, followed by a speech by Majida Ali Rashid, CEO of the Promotion and Real Estate Investment Management sector at DLD. Filippo Rean, Director of Real Estate Division at Reed MIDEM SAS, presented attendees with a video from MIPIM 2019, followed by a presentation on Dubai’s participation, represented by DLD.
Majid Saqr Al Marri, CEO of the Registration and Real Estate Services Sector at DLD, thanked the organisers of MIPIM and highlighted the success of DLD’s participation in the 2019 edition. Hend Obaid Al Marri, CEO of the Dubai Real Estate Institute (DREI), affirmed that the institute will participate in MIPIM 2020 to attract those wishing to develop their knowledge of the real estate sector through the courses offered by DREI. The meetup was attended by a large number of real estate developers in Dubai.
Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of DLD, commented: “Our presence reflects our ongoing efforts to record a significant presence for Dubai’s real estate market in global events as an initiative to support developers in the Emirate and contribute to nurturing confidence among investors looking for opportunities at these exhibitions. During the 31st edition of MIPIM, we will highlight the different sustainability features of Dubai’s real estate market and DLD’s efforts to translate its wise leadership’s strategy through the elements of our vision, represented by confidence, happiness, and innovation.”
Majida Ali Rashid expressed her happiness in meeting the attendees, consolidating DLD’s preparations for the 31st edition of MIPIM, and said: “Together, we will continue our journey of success, which was widely echoed by developers, investors, and those interested in the real estate sector in the previous edition, which attracted a large number of visitors, VIPs, decision-makers, and investment and sovereign fund managers who represent financial assets worth over Dhs10 trillion.”
Rashid added: “This event, which has progressed over the past 30 years, is an exceptional platform that brings together real estate minds to share their practices and experiences, review the developments in the real estate market, and identify best practices to shape the future of real estate. We would like to affirm that our promotional agenda this year is full of events and activities that highlight the elements of the real estate environment in Dubai, and contribute to the success of all real estate events in Dubai’s real estate market that has become more mature and sophisticated as well as a hub for investors around the world, contributing to enhancing its global competitiveness.”
Filippo Rean, Director of Real Estate Division at Reed MIDEM SAS, praised DLD’s role and its keenness to develop the existing partnership between the two parties, adding: “The 31st edition in March 2020 under the theme The Future is Human is expected to attract around 27,000 visitors, representing 100 countries, more than 10,000 companies, and 480 speakers in over 130 conferences. It is also expected to attract over 6,000 investors.”
In addition to enhancing its relations with developers, DLD will work with its partners during the exhibition to attract investors. It will also utilise its platform to identify Dubai’s available investment opportunities and the services it offers through its advanced initiatives and solutions, including smart and innovative applications and services that ensure that customers can complete their transactions easily, transparently, safely, remotely, and at any time.
DLD reached an understanding with the French Reed MIDEM SAS to promote real estate and enhance confidence in Dubai’s real estate sector through the existing relationship between the two parties. The company will employ its expertise in this field to promote and highlight DLD’s services to investors and Dubai’s real estate in France through MIPIM, in conjunction with the participation of DLD and its developer partners.
