The Hamriyah Free Zone Authority, (HFZA), announced that it is sponsoring the Sharjah Department of e-Government’s pavilion at the 39th GITEX Technology Week, which kicked off on Sunday at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).
During the five-day event scheduled to conclude on October 10, the Sharjah Department of e-Government showcasing a variety of online and technical services provided by 33 government departments and entities.
HFZA stressed that its sponsorship of the pavilion comes as part of its efforts to highlight the digital and smart transformations being witnessed by the Emirate on all levels and to support Sharjah’s modern and sophisticated business environment.
Sheikh Khalid Al Qassimi, Director General of Sharjah Department of e-Government, lauded HFZA’s sponsorship, stressing that the Hamriyah Free Zone plays a significant role in attracting foreign investments to Sharjah thanks to its diverse services that meet all needs of investors.
“Sharjah e-Government’s pavilion sheds light on the emirate’s leadership in the digital transformation field and how it is capable of harnessing different technologies to serve its development journey,” Al Qassimi said.
Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of Hamriyah Free Zone Authority, reaffirmed HFZA’s constant commitment to collaborate with government departments and entities in Sharjah to render the best services to the private sector.
HFZA’s sponsorship emphasizes its keenness to support all endeavors being made by Sharjah government entities to highlight the latest technological, digital and smart innovations that could enhance the competitiveness of the private sector, reflect Sharjah Government’s capability of coping with smart transformations, and strengthen customer satisfaction and happiness,” Al Mazrouei said.
He underscored that Sharjah e-Government pavilion is a must-stop for all investors and businessmen looking forward to investing in Sharjah.
“Through its participation in GITEX Technology Week, HFZA will highlight its latest electronic and smart services that made it an ideal and top destination for investors,” Al Mazrouei further said.
“Investors can easily set up their projects in the Free Zone and conclude all transactions in one hour using an innovative electronic platform, which HFZA developed as part of its plans to attract investors and quality projects,” HFZA director added.
Meanwhile, The Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) within its participation in the GITEX-2019, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with A For Value LTD. This Memo aims at enhancing the cooperation between the parties for the sake of promoting the capabilities of the Ajman Chamber’s members in risk management, so that they might gain the required confidence to practice business at a local and international level.
The agreement was signed by Omar Al Nuaimi-Ajman Chamber and Cristian Giacomini, Managing Director of A For Value LTD.
The Memo further stipulated organizing seminars and training courses on the subjects of risk management and assessing the commercial risks related to the Chamber’s members, in addition to introducing them to the tools and mechanisms for assessing and managing risks according to the latest technologies employed in the field.
It also aims at introducing the Chamber’s members to the A For Value LTD’s products and services allocated for the management of risks and encouraging them to use the same, and specifically the unilateral risk reports issued for providing the same to suppliers and the different financing entities by applying the latest artificial intelligence technologies.
STC’s stand in GITEX witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement with Badir Technology Incubators and Accelerators Program which aims at supporting the establishment and growth of entrepreneurial and startup projects.
The agreement was signed by Mohammed Al Hakbani, Vice President of Enterprise Sales at STC and Nawaf Al Sahhaf, the CEO of Badir Program, in presence of HRH Mohammed Bin Khaled Abdulla Al-Faisal, Chairman of STC, and STC Group CEO Nasser Al-Nasser.
The agreement aims at supporting startups in the technology field through innovative solutions that contribute to raising the added value of the project. STC Business offers many services to SMEs from the establishment of an enterprise’s infrastructure to the day-to-day provision of technical services including phone, internet connection, and advanced services such as cloud computing, cybersecurity solutions, sales management, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
In this context, Al Hakbani emphasized the importance of small and medium enterprises. He said that this sector is the backbone of the economy in most countries of the world, as it accounts for more than 90% of the total number of enterprises worldwide and contributes to 50% of GDP. He added that STC seeks to support this sector given that it is a great source of job opportunities. Statistics show that 50 to 60% of the total workforce works in enterprises classified as medium or small.
