The Expo Centre Sharjah said that it is ready and well-prepared for hosting the 3rd International Concrete Conference & Exhibition (ICCX Middle East 2019), organised by Germany’s ad-media GmbH in co-operation with the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce (AHK) from 24 – 26 November.
This came during a press conference held on Tuesday at the headquarters of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, SCCI, in the presence of Jamal Bu Zinjal, Head of Media Department, SCCI, Dr Holger Karutz, Managing Director ad-media GmbH, representatives of exhibiting companies, and industry’s most important renowned experts.
With the participation of more than 75 exhibitors from all over the world, the ICCX Middle East 2019 is displaying the latest in concrete, material handling, concrete production, cement, building materials, construction equipment, and machinery.
Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, said: “This exhibition comes in response to the building and construction sector’s increased demands and in the wake of the remarkable success of the previous editions, especially that the ICCX Middle East 2019 is the largest event of its kind across the region, specifically for concrete block/paver/pipe/precast and ready-mix as well.”
He added: “The ICCX Middle East 2019 is a platform for those interested in the concrete and precast industry including; design, manufacture, specifying, site installation, testing, maintaining or repairing. Here, you can see everything that is new and advanced in concrete from some of the biggest names in the industry which take part to boost their presence in regional markets and to maintain their leading position in the competitive market. This comes amid expectations of a growing demand for building and construction projects and that some US$316 billion to be pumped into the market in 2019-21 across the GCC.”
“Hosting such a mega event is forming a value-added to the agenda of the exhibitions hosted by the Expo Centre and the Emirate of Sharjah. In the meantime, we, at the SCCI, are keen on sponsoring and hosting this event at Expo Centre as part of the Chamber’s efforts in stimulating the construction sector in the Emirate,” said Jamal Bu Zinjal, Head of Media Department, SCCI.
“We aim to bring together under one roof the construction sector’s leading local companies and their foreign counterparts to create a mutual umbrella for partnership and exchange of experiences among the exhibitors. The building and construction sector has contributed by around 13% of Sharjah’s GDP, in addition to be a key element in the Emirate’s sustainable economic growth,” added Bu Zinjal.
In turn, Dr. Holger Karutz, Managing Director ad-media GmbH, said: “The ICCX Middle East 2019 is the most comprehensive concrete-specific trade show in the region and the one place where you can find the industry’s most important suppliers and equipment experts under one roof.
From concrete mixing and batching, construction chemicals, production for the concrete block/paver/pipe/precast and ready-mix as well as autoclaved aerated concrete. The event has already established itself as a meeting place for the industry in the region ever since its launch in 2017.”
