SCCI provides online attestation services for all transactions

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce, SCCI, has recently revealed the activation of online attestation services for all transactions through the chamber’s website or the smart application instead of coming in person to the customer happiness centres.

The move comes as part of the precautionary measures adopted by the SCCI to combat the spread of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) and its implications on the business sector and to ensure the health and safety of customers while maintaining business with the same level of efficiency.

The SCCI explained that the online transactions include ratifying the signature, individual sponsorship, minors permission, a certified true copy, guardian approval, and external transactions, in addition to the possibility of online payment via credit card or prepaid from the account of the registered company.

His Excellency Mohammad Ahmed Amin Al-Awadi, SCCI’s Director-General, said: “The SCCI is committed to finding solutions to deal with the challenges of COVID-19 and enhancing the competitiveness of the business environment in the emirate, as well as maintaining the health of community members while ensuring business continuity and efficiency. This is achieved through the provision of smart online services covering all the needs and requirements of the business community and allowing investors to easily complete all their transactions remotely according to the highest international standards.”

Al-Awadi shed light on the precautionary measures taken by the SCCI to curb the spread of COVID-19, including the remote working system and the online and online services which are completely covered (100 per cent) such as the completion of certificates of origin, attestations, and memberships, in addition to a number of other online services.

“This comes as part of the SCCI’s strategy to serve the business community through utilizing the new and modern technologies, something which enhances the business environment and reinforces Sharjah’s status as a prime destination for enticing investments and boosting the economic movement, as well as promotes the SCCI’s services for its partners from the public and private sectors,” he concluded.

The SCCI has also announced the provision of the “You call, We arrive” service for free for all customers, as part of its precautionary measures to ensure the safety of its employees and customers. The “You call, We arrive” service, which is the first of its kind in Sharjah, aims to help customers, investors, commercial and industrial companies save time and efforts by providing them with a fully equipped van to do the transaction in one spot. The smart services include the issuance of memberships, certificates of origin and attestations. The vehicle is equipped with high-quality technology to serve the clients, comfortable seats, internet services, chargers, laptops and any services that the customer needs to carry out transactions.

Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry was established by an Amiri decree issued in 1970 by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah in order to effectively and vitally participate in the organisation of economic life and the prosperity of its trade, industry and professions sectors on all levels and in cooperation with the concerned establishments and bodies and local departments.

Thus, the chamber is keen to include in its membership all the companies and establishments practicing economic activity in the emirate whether it is trade, industries or professions. It has been obligatory for the chamber to follow the economic and civilizational development witnessed by United Arab Emirates a matter that naturally requires change on the different services and activities of the chamber. The law No (1) of the year 1980 organising the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry was issued too include the articles of association and the legal rules and provisions drawing the chamber’s ambitious objects and set the means for its achievement through administrative and executive body having positions according to responsibilities.

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry recently held its first video conference meeting, as part of the remote working system procedures and the precautionary measures taken to maintain the health and safety of both the employees and the customers.

The meeting is also in line with the preventive measures adopted by the UAE government in light of the global menace of coronavirus (COVID-19).

The meeting was chaired by Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman, SCCI, and in the presence of Mohammad Ahmed Amin Al-Awadi, SCCI’s Director-General, and a number of directors of departments.
