The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, SCCI, has recently revealed the statistics for its online services during March, where the number of memberships reached 467, 27 new memberships and 440 renewed memberships respectively, while the number of the certificates of origin reached 1346, besides 50 attestations.
The number of new members from the free zones reached 25 during the same period.
These numbers reflect the success of the SCCI in enhancing its online and smart services to cater to the needs of Sharjah’s business community and enable it to achieve the transactions smoothly, in accordance with the highest international standards.
This comes as part of the SCCI’s precautionary measure to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Mohammad Ahmed Amin Al-Awadi, SCCI’s Director-General, said: “through the previous months, the SCCI has been keen to enhance its online services by launching several digital initiatives to ensure the provision of services remotely for the business community. Our aim is to ensure business continuity and inclusiveness in light of the current circumstances.”
He pointed out that the SCCI has succeeded in achieving 100% of the smart transformation of the basic services, something which underlines the keenness to provide the highest levels of professionalism and efficiency.
“These positive statistics, especially in the number of memberships and certificates of origin reflect the quality of our services to the customers and the members,” Al-Awadi concluded.
Among the procedures taken by the SCCI is relocating the service “Burak Robot” for printing the certificates of origin to the main entrance of the chamber building.
The chamber has also finalized the electronic linkage with Tas’heel Centers in Al Dhaid, Kalba, and Khor Fakkan to help complete the SCCI services from these centers.
Additionally, the chamber has previously announced the provision of the “You call, We arrive” service for free for all customers, as part of its precautionary measures to ensure the safety of its employees and customers.
The “You call, We arrive” service is the first of its kind in Sharjah and it aims to help customers, investors, commercial and industrial companies save time and efforts by providing them with a fully equipped van to do the transaction in one spot.
The smart services include the issuance of memberships, certificates of origin and attestations. The vehicle is equipped with high-quality technology to serve the clients, comfortable seats, internet services, chargers, laptops and any services that the customer needs to carry out transactions.
Furthermore, the SCCI has launched earlier in March a bundle of online services, including the signature validity, individual sponsorship, minors permission, a certified true copy, guardian approval, and external transactions, in addition to the possibility of the payment electronically via credit card or prepaid from the account of the registered company.
Meanwhile, the Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone) has launched a disinfection drive to sterilise all its facilities in cooperation with the Sharjah Environment Company LLC (Bee’ah).
