The Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC) has provided its members with exclusive access to various online training programmes and webinars to enhance their competitive edge and help them get through these challenging times in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
A total of 51 webinars were planned in March and more in April and May based on the strong collaborations with the Council’s strategic partners.
The webinars carried out via video conference to cover various topics that have been carefully selected to give tips, ideas and assist with skill development.
The training programmes, scheduled to conclude mid-May, are part of the council’s integrated strategy recently launched to mitigate the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) on its members and the business community at large.
“The DBWC members are provided with all forms of support and assistance to equip them with necessary knowledge and skills to help them get through this critical period. This is the ultimate goal of this interactive training programme,” said Dr. Raja Easa Al Gurg, President of Dubai Business Women Council.
“In addition to existing partnerships, we have signed new ones to hold further interactive trainings based on the advanced digital environment that we have been developing over the years,” Al Gurg added.
“Organising 51 exclusive webinars within a month and a half is indeed an achievement that reflects the DBWC’s continuous planning and keenness to support and reinforce the competitiveness of its members,” she further said, adding “The webinar topics were carefully picked to foster members’ competitive skills, which are crucial for future excellence and success”.
Al Gurg stressed the council’s commitment to launching further initiatives that would make them ready for the future despite all the challenges, thanking all partners and entities that played a role in putting together the online workshops.
These include EQXponential, Kompass Consultancy, Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies (EIBFS), American University in Dubai, Pearl Initiative, IE Business School, Entrepreneur Middle East, Mindfulness UAE, The University of Manchester, Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), ICON, LaunchDXB, Forca, Square Motion, and Certified Coach Nehad Tadros.
The webinars have covered various topics including: Gender Equality is Smart Business; Driving Growth through Customer Centricity; How to use your Emotional Intelligence to Navigate Disruption and Uncertainty; and The Corona Effect: Understanding Governance & Risk in Unprecedented Times; as well as Cash Flow Statement Analysis; and How to Communicate Effectively.
Other topics also include AI for Dummies. Special focus, impact of AI on Covid19 & Finance; Negotiation Skills; Professional Email Correspondence; Impact Management and Theories of Change: The Fundamentals; Digitalisation For MSMEs: Harnessing Business Potential; and Business Continuity Planning; as well as Fintech 101; Leading Through & Beyond COVID-19; Finance First: Small Business Funding in the Gulf Region; Leadership in Uncertain Times and Beyond, Back in Control - Managing Unexpected Change; and Digital Marketing Trends.
This is in addition to Innovation and Transformation in Insurance Sector. How tech and AI can help during the COVID crisis; Mental Toughness: Develop Your Confidence; and Drivers & Opportunities for Startups and Entrepreneurs, Special Focus, Response & Mindset.
The council also announced it cooperated with a number of industry partners such as Women@work, Emirates Literature Foundation, and Entrepreneur ME to provide business resources and special offers to DBWC members in order to help them get through the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).
Four new strategic partnerships have also been signed with the following entities: Edelman Middle East, American University of Dubai – EMBA, The Ameliorate Group, and Kompass Consultancy.
These partnerships aim to support women in the workplace through many initiatives related to women in business in Dubai and to bring about a positive difference in support of female business community and women in leadership. The partnerships will also aim to provide access to business services for the DBWC community.
As part of its new measures taken in light of COVID-19 and to ensure the safety of its members, the council has updated its website to keep all members well-informed with the latest developments related to the novel coronavirus and its impact on the business environment.
