Zero 6 Mall in Sharjah, a premium shopping and entertainment destination, has announced its opening after a announcement from the Sharjah Economic Development Department, to reopen all commercial centers, salons, restaurants and cafeterias.
Issa Ataya, Managing Director, Alef Group, Developer of the mall confirmed that the mall will be open from 12pm-9pm at 30 per cent capacity. All necessary precautions to preserve public health will be observed during this time, in an effort to contain the spread of the Corona virus.
He added that all supermarkets and shops will resume operations, whereas the cinema, fitness centre and children’s game corner will remain closed until further notice.
Leaflets outlining the general guidelines of mall behavior and the need to practice social distancing have been placed at the entrance of all stores. To ensure maximum safety underground parking spaces will remain closed and visitors will be allowed to park in the ground parking lots, he said.
In accordance with the directives issued by The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, all mall goers will be provided with masks and gloves and thermally scanned before entering the mall.
The reopening follows a series of stringent measures implemented to ensure safety of shoppers. These include regular sterilisation of the mall premises whilst adhering to safety protocols of wearing masks and gloves at all times. Sterilisers will be placed throughout the mall and awareness campaigns will be organised to educate employees about the preventive measures to be taken to combat the spread of the virus.
As part of the opening plan, disinfection operations will be conducted across the mall including entrances, exits, elevators, stairs etc.
