The Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) signed a memorandum of cooperation with “elGrocer”, to optimally utilize the capabilities of the two parties to serve entrepreneurs, particularly in the field of e-commerce to ensure the growth and development of their business through technologies available.
“elGrocer” is a pioneering electronic platform that acts as a link between stores and retail establishments on one side, and members of the community on the other side to provide fast and safe grocery delivery services. The agreement was signed at the Ajman Chamber’s premises by Nasser Al Dhafri - Executive Director of Communication and Member Support at Ajman Chamber, and Raed Hafez - CEO of elGrocer.
The memorandum aims to help establishments access and expand e-commerce, and to provide special benefits for members of the Ajman Chamber, including a discount on trade fees with a free trial period of 3 months.
The targeted operational sectors include “FMCG retail, hypermarkets, supermarkets, mini-mart, groceries, specialised retail trade or business, butcheries, fish shops, vegetables and fruits, organic products, bakeries, roasters, sweets, pet stores, coffee, tea, water and others.”
Under the agreement, elGrocer will provide a set of services for enterprises wishing to enhance their trade electronically, including “product catalog management, an application for receiving and delivering orders, delivery services, selection of goods, online payment, market support, weekly branding offers, operations and suggestions, customer service and after sales support”.
For his part, Al Dhafri explained that the Ajman Chamber, under the directives of the Board of Directors, is keen to diversify the value-added services offered to its members.
“The Chamber strives to harness all capabilities to foster entrepreneurs’ business, notably the cooperation with e-commerce platforms to support the business community in the emirate,” Al Dhafri added.
He also stressed importance of the agreement and its role in opening the way for many operational sectors in the emirate to strengthen their presence and their e-commerce. He further explained that e-commerce platforms have witnessed increased growth during this year in light of the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, Raed Hafez thanked the Ajman Chamber for providing an opportunity for the cooperation, stressing that elGrocer is keen to provide many benefits for the members of the Ajman Chamber in order to increase the volume of their e-commerce sales and to reach new customers. He also noted that the application would open the way for business and commodity expansion in the future.
At the end of the meeting, the two parties agreed to organise an introductory seminar to be joined by representatives of the targeted operational sectors and those involved in the retail and grocery trade to introduce the platform and the various services it provides.
In addition, it will discuss the mechanism for the use of delivery companies operating in the emirate and opening prospects for cooperation with the “elGrocer” platform.
