As at 08:33 GMT, the crypto-currency rose by 6.5% to $22,765.
Bitcoin rose above 175% this year, as investors lean towards it for quick gains and it has low inflation qualities.

The world holds high expectation for bitcoin, it is seen as the future mainstream payment method.
Yang Li, Chief Growth Officer at digital foreign exchange platform Ziglu said: "wider adoption will grow the value of bitcoin even more, this is just the start."
