His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Saturday launched a programme aimed at making Dubai a global capital of the creative economy.
Under the programme Dubai will raise the number of creative firms from 8,000 to 15,000 and number of creative professionals from 70,000 to 150,000 within the next 5 years.
The programme aims to increase the contribution of the creative economy to the GDP from 2.6% to 5%.
"The programme will launch new creative zones in content, design and arts. Innovation is an integral part of our economy, lifestyle and future," said Sheikh Mohammed.
Sheikh Mohammed took to twitter to announce the launch of new programme.
“We launched a strategic program to make Dubai a global capital of the creative economy. We aim to increase the number of creative firms from 8,000 to 15,000 in Dubai and creative professionals from 70,000 to 150,000 within the next 5 years,” tweeted Sheikh Mohammed.
