Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, issued Resolution No. (19) of 2021, regarding the reduction and cancellation of some fees and financial allowances in Dubai.
The reduction and cancellation include a package that includes 88 government services affiliated to major entities, including the Dubai Land Department, Dubai Maritime City Authority, Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Municipality, Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, and Dubai Courts, The Department of Economic Development, the Dubai Maritime City Authority, and the Dubai Health Authority.
Highlights:
The decision includes reducing fees on companies and economic activities.
Reducing the financial burdens on the practitioners of activities, citizens and residents.
Cancellation of fees for some government agencies, including the Dubai Maritime Authority.
Lands, roads, municipality, courts and the Health Authority are within the decision.
Fee reduction includes tourism, marketing and economic development.
Entry permit, establishment of work, renewal, sponsorship, transfer and health card.
The decision comes as part of the Dubai government's continuous incentives to promote economic growth in the emirate, and its continuous support for its investment and government environment, with the aim of easing the financial burdens on the businesses in Dubai, and its residents.
Fees that will be waived by Dubai Tourism include those for tourism permits and replacement of lost tourism permits, tourism permits for people under 16 years, and permits for fashion shows, among others.
The decision also authorises heads of government entities to take decisions to reduce or waive any payments other than fees imposed for its services and products.
However this is subject to prior approval from the Department of Finance in Dubai.
The cancellation or reduction of such payments has to be formalised by the enactment of a legislation and its publication in the Official Gazette.
