On the fourth day of the Dubai Airshow 2021, the Ministry of Defence announced the conclusion of seven deals worth more than Dhs1.742 billion with local and international companies.
This brings the total deals concluded during the first fourth days to 23 deals, with a total value of Dhs22.524 bn. The deals of the first three days day amounted to Dhs5.239b, Dhs11.284b and Dhs4.257b respectively.
The largest deal of Dhs677.3 million was awarded to International Technical Systems Trading to supply the UAE Air Force and Air Defence aircraft with systems and equipment.
This was announced in the presence of Major General Staff Pilot Ishaq Saleh Al Balushi, Executive Director of the Military Organising Committee of the Dubai Airshow 2021, and Lt. Col. Pilot Sarah Hamad Al-Hajari, official spokesman for the Dubai International Airshow 2021.
The deals concluded in the 2019 edition of Dubai Airshow were worth a total value of Dhs18 billion, while those of the 2021 edition exceeded twenty billion dirhams on its third day only.
Meanwhile, the total value of deals, contracts, LoIs and MoUs during the first three days of the Dubai Airshow-2021 rose to Dhs260 billion, after the exhibition achieved nearly Dhs59.2 billion on its third day.
The third day's deals included 117 commercial aircraft from Airbus and Boeing, bringing the total announced aircraft to 492 passenger and cargo aircraft, as well as 100 helicopters.
The European aircraft manufacturer Airbus won another big deal on the third day of the Dubai Airshow 2021 on Tuesday, signing a deal with Kuwait’s Jazeera Airways for 20 A320neos and eight A321neos valued at more than Dhs12.1 billion, according to the prices of 2018.
Ibom Air, a subsidiary of the Akwa (Ibom) state government in Nigeria, announced the signing of a firm order for ten A220 aircraft, with an estimated value of about Dhs3.3 billion.
Boeing and the United Republic of Tanzania announced an order for three models from the U.S. manufacturer during the Dubai Airshow 2021. The aircraft will be dedicated to Air Tanzania.
The order consists of one Boeing 787-8, one Boeing 767-300 freighter and two Boeing 737 MAX, and is valued at more than Dhs2.66 billion at list prices. For Boeing, it is the first order for a passenger aircraft as part of this Air Show.
Boeing Capital, wholly owned by Boeing, and Sky One, which specializes in aircraft leasing, also announced the signing of an agreement to sell three 777-300s at the Dubai Airshow, with an estimated value of about Dhs4 billion.
In addition, Boeing and Akasa Air, a brand of SNV Aviation, announced that the new Indian carrier has ordered 72 737 MAX aircraft to build its fleet. The value of the order is estimated at Dhs33 billion.
