The activities of the 17th “SteelFab 2022”, Mena’s largest event of its kind, are currently underway at the Expo Centre Sharjah.
A 2-day Machinery Technology Equipment Conference is taking place on the sidelines of the exhibition, which discusses the future of the iron and steel industry and global market trends in this vital sector, in the presence of major manufacturers and representatives of the most prominent local and international companies of metalwork.
The conference featured lectures and dialogue sessions highlighting issues of concern to workers in the iron and steel industry, foremost of which are key learnings from the impact of Covid-19 on demand and supply, the changing face of the structural steel fabrication market, and digitisation in steel fabrication.
The conference also included live demonstrations and presentations on the most prominent technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the latest equipment and machinery for the steel industry.

Organised by the Expo Centre Sharjah with the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, SteelFab 2022, which runs until Jan.13, is seeing the participation of over 150 local and international exhibitors from 30 countries and 400 brands of the world’s leading brands in the field of metalwork and related industries. The 17th “SteelFab 2022”, Mena’s largest event of its kind, kicked off on Monday at the Expo Centre Sharjah (ECS).
Running from Jan.10th to Jan.13th, the 4-day event is organised by the Expo Centre Sharjah with the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
With over 150 exhibitors of the major local and international players in metalworking field, the exhibition highlights state-of-the-art innovations of more than 400 world-leading brands from 30 countries.
The event will showcase the most prominent technologies of the fourth industrial revolution in the iron and steel sector, the latest equipment and machinery for the steel industry, modern technologies in the fields of metal forming, laser systems for metal cutting, steel fabrication machines, and AI-powered robots.
Meanwhile, the Expo Centre Sharjah will be hosting the 6th Fasteners World Middle East, a full-fledged vertical show for the entire fasteners and fixing industry. Major British industrial companies are taking part in this event through the UK pavilion, in addition to the participation of leading countries in the steel industry, including Germany, Italy, India, and Turkey, besides a remarkable presence of Emirati and local companies.
“SteelFab 2022” is supported by international associations and leading companies such as UCIMU Sistemi Per Produrre (Association of Italian Manufacturers of Machine Tools, Robots, Automation Systems and Ancillary Products), UAE Contractors Association, Ventures Middle East (VME), and Construction Week Online (ITP).
