Jewels of Emirates Show 2022 ends on strong note in Sharjah

The 3rd edition of the Jewels of Emirates Show concluded on a strong note in Sharjah on Sunday. The show  witnessed the remarkable participation of companies specialising in perfumes. The representatives of these companies expressed their delight at being a part of such a well-attended event, noting that they displayed a wide range of the finest fragrances, as well as other products of the best incense and natural aromatic oils that cater to a wide range of tastes, during the show.

The event has achieved massive success in becoming a distinct and dazzling exhibition showcasing a collection of gold and jewellery innovations by Emirati designers at the Expo Center Sharjah.

 Around 20 UAE female designers showcased their latest collections of gold and diamond jewellery and distinctive designs that were inspired by the Emirati heritage during their participation in the “Emirati Goldsmiths” platform that the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) allocated at the exhibition.

The exhibition featured the launch of Shamma Alhallami’s “Desert Blossom” jewellery collection, in cooperation with Salem Al Shueibi Jewellery. The Emirati heritage-inspired designs comprised a collection of one of the world’s rarest flower formations, which required over 1300 working hours, 2 kg of gold, and 250-carats of the finest diamonds and precious stones such as sapphire and ruby to complete.

Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, expressed his pleasure at the distinct and growing participation of UAE designers in the Jewels of Emirates Show, noting that this reflects the outstanding talents of leading national designers who can create innovative designs that highlight the UAE’s place in the jewellery industry. He also highlighted Expo Center Sharjah’s keenness to organize such a show in order to strengthen the jewellery industry and support Emirati exhibitors as well as both male and female designers.

Mona Sultan Al-Suwaidi, Director of the Executive Office of the SCCI’s Chairman and in charge of the Emirati Goldsmiths Platform, noted, “SCCI pursues its efforts through the “Emirati Goldsmiths” platform to support UAE designers, entrepreneurs, and talented workers in the jewelry trade and design sector.”

She also emphasized the increasing number of UAE female designers who have presented their stunning gold and jewelry collections on the Emirati Goldsmiths platform.

Furthermore, designer Sahar Al Ansari expressed her desire to continue participating in the Jewels of Emirates Show, adding that it allows her to display her designs in front of a wide range of visitors. During her participation in this year’s edition, she exhibited unique designs inspired by Emirati heritage by using traditional UAE gold, which included 18k and 21k gold, as well as jewels such as emeralds and beautifully colored topaz.

Meanwhile, another designer, Mitha Qarash, also displayed distinct gold and jewellery paintings with modern and classic designs.

Meanwhile, in the presence of more than 40 representatives from the Emirate of Sharjah’s major industrial companies, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) organized an orientation meeting in cooperation with the Emirates Development Bank (EDB) to explore a number of flexible development solutions for investors as well as small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The meeting was attended by  Waleed Abdul Rahman Bukhatir, Second Vice-President, SCCI;  Ahmed Mohamed Al Naqbi, EDB Chief Executive Officer;  Mohammed Hilal Al-Hazmi, Board Member of SCCI; Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General, SCCI;  Lalu Samuel, Chairman of the Representative Committee of the Industry Sector at SCCI; and several representatives of the relevant departments of the EDB and SCCI.

The gathering highlighted EDB’s funding and support for industrial sectors, as well as its vital role in assisting small and medium-sized businesses and factories to maintain the highest standards and, as a result, develop and stimulate the economic growth of the SME sector. Furthermore, this meeting is part of both sides’ strategic efforts to enhance the private sector’s contribution to UAE economic development.

In his comments, Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi underlined, “This meeting follows the SCCI and EDB’s strategic partnership, which began in 2021 with an MoU aimed at boosting cooperation and establishing a formal mutual framework in local entrepreneurship and economic development. Furthermore, it assists SCCI members who are manufacturers by assessing the potential of obtaining funds from the bank.”

He further stated that SCCI is keen to proceed with its policy of providing support and contributing to the development of the industrial and SME sectors as critical components in promoting diversification, sustainability, and national economic growth.
