Abdullah Al Muwaiji, Chairman of the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), received Moon Byung Jun, Consul-General of the Republic of South Korea, to discuss ways of joint cooperation, consolidate existing economic relations, review available investment opportunities, and increase the volume of trade between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by Mohamed Ali Al Janahi, Executive Director of the Trade Development and International Relations at the ACCI, and Yoosun Min, Chief Officer for Diplomatic, Economic and Cultural Affairs in the Consulate-General of the Republic of Korea in Dubai. At the beginning of the meeting, Abdullah Al Muwaiji welcomed the visiting delegation and praised the strong ties and relations between the two friendly countries, stressing that the economic sector has great developments between the UAE and South Korea, which supports the economic partnership and opens up prospects for cooperation between business owners from both countries.
“Ajman Chamber seeks to strengthen its external relations and partnerships under the directives of the wise leadership, with a view to promoting the investment opportunities available in Ajman in the sectors of industry, trade, services, tourism, education, health, infrastructure, and other sectors, and creating new opportunities to access new markets for national products in order to achieve the ACCI’s objectives aiming to enhance the capabilities of the future business industry, the sustainability and growth of the business community, and diversify the possibilities of competitiveness and leadership,” he said.
During the meeting, opportunities for cooperation and exchange of experiences and best practices in the field of training, education, technology solutions, artificial intelligence, and innovation were discussed. The attendees also stressed the importance of exchanging visits and delegations, participating in specialised exhibitions, opening channels of cooperation and partnership between business owners from the two countries, enhancing joint cooperation and exchanging experiences in developing small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurship.
For his part, Moon Byung-Jun, Consul-General of the Republic of South Korea, praised the diversity of economic opportunities and fields in Ajman and its role in strengthening relations between Korea and Ajman. He also pointed out the importance of cooperation in the tourism sector, given what both Korea and Ajman possess in this vital sector.
Mohammed Ali Al Janahi gave an overview of Ajman’s economy and its diverse components and attractive investment opportunities, and reviewed the Emirate’s efforts to provide a competitive environment characterised by flexibility and speed of completion of transactions. He also gave a detailed overview on the most important main sectors of the Emirate’s economy, especially the sectors of industry, commerce, tourism, real estate, building, and construction, explaining that the momentum of the industrial sector in the Emirate and its ownership of more than 1,000 factories will enhance cooperation between Ajman and Korea in the field of innovation and reliance on artificial intelligence (AI) and benefit from the experiences of the Korean side in the industrial field.
