Dubai’s prestigious airline Emirates Group reported its strongest-ever performance for 2022-23, posting a profit of Dhs10.9 billion ($3 billion) and revenues of Dhs119.8 billion ($32.6 billion), a new profit and revenue record and a significant turnaround from last year.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai said, “Emirates Airlines announced its annual financial results... Profits of 10.9 billion dirhams... Revenues of 119.8 billion dirhams... Passengers 43 million passengers... And 102,000 employees... The most profitable year ever after one of the worst global crises that the global aviation sector has experienced in the last 3 years...
“Emirates Airlines represents the spirit of Dubai.”
Sheikh Mohammed said, “The growth and success of Emirates has been at the heart of Dubai’s rise as an aviation leader. The airline’s vast reach has also helped Dubai strengthen its global role as a bridge between markets and cultures.
“Over the last 30 years, Emirates carried nearly 720 million passengers and 38 million tonnes of cargo both to and through #Dubai. Together with its partners, Emirates offers flights to over 500 cities, connecting people in every corner of the world with our city.
“Over the next decade, as Dubai seeks to expand its economic footprint, the Emirates Group will play an instrumental part in adding more cities to its foreign trade network and opening new economic corridors.”
Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates airline and Group said, “We’re proud of our 2022-23 performance which is not only a full recovery, but also a record result & proud of our contribution to the restoration of air transport and tourism across the markets we serve.”
