Tawazun Council, a government entity that works closely with the Ministry of Defense in the UAE, on Friday signed 10 deals, worth Dhs1.415 billion, with local and international companies on behalf of the Ministry of Defense on the fifth and final day of the Dubai Airshow 2023. This brings the total value of the deals Tawazun Council signed on behalf of the Ministry of Defense so far Dhs23.06 billion for 54 deals.
The announcement was made during a press conference held by Tawazun Council’s official Spokesmen Zayed Saeed Al Meraikhi and Mona Ahmed Al Jaber, Chief Corporate Communication Officer at Tawazun Council.
Zayed Saeed Al Meraikhi said, the number of contracts signed by Tawazun Council on behalf of the Ministry of Defense with local companies reached 4 contracts, totaling Dhs392 million on the fifth day of Dubai Airshow 2023. The contract- worth Dhs178 million, was awarded to “Lahab Defence Systems”, an Edge company, to procure Bombs Body. A contract worth Dhs82 million was signed with “ADASI”, an Edge company, to provide Upgrade Services on Al Saber UAV’s. Other two announced deals with local companies included “GAL” company worth Dhs93.9 million to provide Technical Support on VIP Aircrafts, and a contract with “Yahsat” to provide Technical Support at a value of Dhs38 million.The international contracts announced today by Al Meraikhi, included 6 contracts at a total value of Dhs1.023 billion. The first contract was signed with the Swedish company “SAAB” to procure Radars, at a total value Dhs145 million. An Dhs262 million contract awarded to the French company “Thales”” to procure Radars.A contract signed with the Italian company “- ELETTRONICA” to procure Ammunition for Aircraft for Dhs240 million. While two contracts were signed with the Italian company “LEONARDO”, the first one is to purchase VIP Helicopters for Dhs259.5 million and the second one for providing Technical Support on Radars worth Dhs70 million. A contract with the American company “L3Harris” to procure Microwave Stations for Dhs46.7 million.
