The Sustainable Trade Africa (STA) 2024 Conference, held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), has successfully concluded its first edition of 2024.
Organised by the UAE Trade Center in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and on the sidelines of the 13th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO MC13), the event marked a significant milestone in advancing sustainable trade practices and fostering economic growth in Africa.
The STA 2024 Conference brought together key stakeholders including government officials, ministry from Africa, industry leaders, policymakers, and representatives from international organizations to discuss crictal concerns related to sustainable trade and development in Africa.

Aligned with the theme “Transforming Africa Trade for Climate Resilience & Sustainable Development,” the conference featured insightful ministerial discussion, interactive panels, and networking session aimed at exploring innovative solutions to the challenges facing while doing trade in Africa.
Policy Dialogues: High-level policy dialogues facilitated discussions on the role of trade policies in promoting sustainable development, addressing climate change, and fostering inclusive growth in Africa.
Investment Opportunities: The conference provided a platform for businesses to explore investment opportunities, forge partnerships, and showcase sustainable practices that contribute to economic prosperity while preserving the environment.
Increased Visibility and Impact: Expert-led sessions and workshops covered a wide range of topics including green financing, renewable energy, circular economy, and sustainable agriculture, offering valuable insights and practical strategies for advancing sustainability goals in Africa.
The STA 2024 Conference emphasised the importance of regional collaboration and cooperation in driving sustainable development efforts across Africa. Participants discussed collaborative initiatives, policy frameworks, and best practices for enhancing regional trade integration and resilience.

As the conference concluded, participants expressed their commitment to continue working together to implement the ideas and initiatives discussed during the event. Looking ahead, the organisers announced plans for future editions of the Sustainable Trade Africa Conference, including upcoming events in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United States and Azerbaijan.
