Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy (DCDE), one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, has recently hosted the annual meeting of its Advisory Council to discuss the chamber’s key initiatives, achievements and future plans.
The meeting explored avenues for increasing the chamber’s contribution to achieving Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) goals, which seek to generate an average of Dhs100 billion annually for Dubai’s economy through digital transformation projects.
The council also discussed ways to enhance the business environment and attract investors and digital companies, in addition to strengthening the competitiveness of Dubai’s digital economy ecosystem. It addressed efforts to improve effectiveness of advocacy and highlighted the key achievements of the chamber.
During the meeting, participants highlighted the important role that the Advisory Council plays in advancing Dubai’s position as the global capital of the digital economy and fostering a growth-friendly environment for digital businesses that supports their expansion from Dubai.
Commenting on the outcomes of the meeting, Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications and Chairman of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, said: “Driven by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, we are committed to ramping up efforts to make Dubai even more attractive to entrepreneurs and top tech talent in advanced technology and AI. He emphasised that Dubai is forging ahead with its forward-looking plans to cement its role as a major global player in shaping the digital economy.
“By harnessing the power of advanced technology, we can create a dynamic business ecosystem that fuels innovation, accelerates digital transformation, and opens up opportunities for investors and companies to thrive.”

The chamber was established by a decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Meanwhile Dubai Chambers successfully hosted the 12th edition of its ‘Diplomatic Circle,’ with over 100 ambassadors, consul generals, and commercial attachés from the UAE in attendance.
The event strengthened economic cooperation between Dubai and the international community
During the event, Dubai Chambers highlighted the opportunities present within the emirate’s economy and showcased the chambers’ efforts to strengthen trade and investment partnerships with international markets, as well as enhance engagement with business communities around the world.
During his speech at the event, Abdul Aziz Abdulla Al Ghurair, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, stressed the pivotal role played by ambassadors, consul generals, and commercial attachés in strengthening international cooperation and building partnerships to achieve common goals, noting that cooperation with the diplomatic corps has been instrumental in Dubai’s journey to success.
He emphasised the importance of building a strong network of relationships to advance Dubai’s position as a leading global hub for business, trade, and investment, stating, “Our international partnerships are supported by a growing network of country-specific Business Councils, which stood at 55 at the end of June.
We organised 59 meetings with the Business Councils during H1 2024, and remain committed to expanding their role and increasing their number to further enhance trade ties with key markets.
Our global network of 31 international representative offices plays a key role in attracting businesses and investments to Dubai and boosting trade.”
Al Ghurair also highlighted the role of communication and collaboration in facing the challenges of a rapidly evolving global economy, commenting, “Our relationships unlock a world of opportunities. This cooperation accelerates growth both here in Dubai and in your home countries.
