With the success of Ice Bucket, Kiki and the 10-Year Challenge, another social media challenge has popped up. This time, it requires a little physical fitness to perform the stunt. The Bottle Cap Challenge with the hashtag #bottlecapchallenge is the latest trend blowing up the Internet. And celebrities from Hollywood and Bollywood are not hesitating in giving it a try.
The latest viral challenge started in the martial arts world on Instagram where some martial arts fighters and celebrities perform a spin kick to uncap a bottle of water.
The challenge focuses on placing a bottle on a solid surface with the cap on it.
The goal is to uncap the bottle with a spin kick.
The Bottle Cap Challenge, which has been surging in recent days, has seen celebrities, including fighters, athletes, musicians and actors, showing us their best precision kicks.
The hashtag #bottlecapchallenge is killing the Internet with amateurs and professionals giving it a boost.
Not only did MMA fighter Errolson Hugh successfully kick a cap clear off a glass bottle, he also did it in such a way that the cap started spinning on the bottle.
Because a challenge doesn’t get far without passing it on to someone, Hugh challenged the UFC’s Max Holloway, 27, who gladly delivered an expert bottle blow, sending the cap spinning in its place.
But Singer John Mayer, 41, did complete the challenge, successfully by removing a red cap from a bottle with his foot.
Mayer then put the challenge to actor Jason Statham, 51, who absolutely smashed it on Monday.
In a video filmed on a rooftop, the “Fast and the Furious” star sent the cap spinning furiously from its base out of the screen.
Later, UFC fighter Conor McGregor took up the cap challenge.
“Excellent job @jasonstatham, Excellent job @jasonstatham, I tip my cap to you. I’ll take it from here,” said McGregor, 30, sharing his own perfect cap-kick video.
McGregor nominated Floyd Mayweather to do the challenge next.
Statham inspired Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar to share an Instagram video of him performing the stunt. "I couldn't resist Bottle Cap challenge. I couldn't resist. Inspired by my action idol Jason Statham. I will repost/retweet the best I see, come on guys and girls get your bottle out and your legs in the air, let's do this," Kumar captioned the video.
American DJ Diplo also took up the challenge. "Since no one requested me to do this and also since no one thinks I'm good at anything except pushing buttons on stage... Here is evidence that I also do karate," Diplo wrote alongside his video of performing the challenge.
