Lizzie McGuire will soon be back to bring cheers to our lives!
Actress/singer Hilary Duff, who made the character a household name 18 years ago, shared a first-look image from the revival series’ New York set.
Duff will reprise her titular role in the reboot to be aired on the brand new streaming service, Disney+.
In the reboot, the actress who catapulted to fame with Lizzie McGuire, will play a 30-year-old millennial navigating life in Manhattan.
The original series, which revolved around a teenage girl as she carefully treads her coming-of-age years, was one of Disney Channel’s biggest hits, spawning a string of merchandise and a spin-off movie in 2003.

As with the former show, the newly imagined one will include an animated version of a young Lizzie who gives revealing commentary on what she is really thinking.
Disney+ too shared a second photo showing Duff holding a stuffed alpaca, captioning it as: “Alpaca your bags! #Lizzie McGuire, an original series coming soon to #DisneyPlus, is heading to the Big Apple for the next chapter in Lizzie’s story.”
Duff is not the only actor to have scored a role in the re-union.
Original cast members Hallie Todd, Robert Carradine and Jake Thomas, too are reprising their roles as Jo, Sam and Matt McGuire.
Original series creator, Terri Minksy, will return as the revival’s creator and showrunner as well.

While there was talk of a potential revival back in 2018, that did not lead to fruition.
The Lizzie McGuire revival is just one of the many series heading to Disney’s upcoming streaming service, including The Mandalorian, the first-ever live action series set in the Star Wars universe.
Not too long ago, Duff sent the show’s fans into a tizzy when she shared a picture from the set with her original co-stars — Lizzie’s mom (Todd), dad (Carradine), and younger brother, Matt (Thomas).
Duff, 32, a mother of two, is also a series regular on the comedy show Younger, which was recently renewed for a seventh season.
