Soul superstar Lewis Capaldi enthralled the crowd with his electrifying performance at the Al Majaz Amphitheatre in Sharjah on Friday evening.
Capaldi made his UAE debut at the Amphitheatre, with international hits that included ‘Someone You Loved.’ The song clocked 75 million hits on YouTube.
Prior to the show, Capaldi shared on his Instagram account, “Buzzing to announce my first ever show in UAE! Can’t wait to get over (there)!”
The young Scottish singer and songwriter performed hits from his debut album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent. The album that came out in March last year remained at the top of the UK Albums Chart for six weeks and achieved gold status in the UK only two weeks after release.
The breakout star of 2019 who has headlined the Bloom UK Tour and shared the stage with contemporary greats like Sam Smith and Bastille, added: “I am thrilled about my UAE debut at #letsmajaz in the nation’s cultural capital, Sharjah.”
“I cannot think of a better setting than the iconic open-air Al Majaz Amphitheatre to deliver my life’s works including several fan favourites. UAE, here I come!,” the young artist said.
Capaldi has been hailed as a child prodigy, playing the guitar and drums at age two and performing in restaurants by the age of nine.
