Singer Sam Smith is currently struggling with quarantine amid the coronavirus pandemic.
After suffering symptoms, Smith made the decision to self-isolate a few days ago “just to be safe”.
Wearing a pained expression on his face in two snaps shared with Instagram, the second image saw Sam hold his head in his hands and appear to cry.
The singer, 27, shared the varying 'stages of a quarantine meltdown' as he begins self-isolation.
Earlier in 2019, Sam Smith had asked fans to use the pronouns "they/them", not "he/him", after coming out as non-binary.
Smith said they did not feel male or female, but "I flow somewhere in between". Speaking to the camera in a three-part Instagram video, they said: “Hello everyone! This is a weird, weird, weird time, oh my gosh, very, very strange.”
“I'm currently in my house. I have got a bit of a headache and allergies but I think I'm alright. But I wanted to stay in just to be safe.”
“This is a weird time. I wanted to reach out to every one of you right now, and send my love. I hope you're okay.”
Sam continued to muse: “This is going to be an odd and different few weeks. I am going to try and do as much as I can to help. All I can really do is sing.
“So if I'm better in a few days I am going to play some songs and record them. And we can hopefully all have a little sing song together.”
“It would be nice, we need it, and music is a beautiful thing in a time like this.”
They signed off the message: “I love you all very much. Please stay safe. Drink loads of water. Read. I hate reading. Do things to keep busy. I am going to watch TV because I'm bored.”
In the comments section underneath, the star was flooded with kind words and solidarity. One commenter told them: “Everything will be OK.”
Another wrote: “Take some time for yourself, you deserve it.”
Other celebrities have already tested positive for the virus, including Tom Hanks, Idris Elba and Olga Kurylenko.
