The Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra thinks outside the box because of the coronavirus epidemic and makes an offer to coordinate the playing of each member of the band from their place and hear the rest through a phone and present a piece without cacophony.
The Rotterdam Philharmonic group said, “From us, for you. We’re adjusting to a new reality. Creative forces help us, let’s think outside of the box and use innovation to keep our connection and make it work, together. Because if we do it together, we’ll succeed…”
It also said, “This recording is a collaboration between Senior Service and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra.”
The group said following the government decision regarding COVID-19, all events until April 6 will not take place. The tour of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra to the United States is postponed as previously reported.
Concerts that are planned after 6 April will take place, but we follow the guidlines of the authorities and government. The first matter of importance is the safety of our patrons, musicians and stakeholders. Once more information is available, we will provide further details on our website and social media. Individual ticket buyers will be notified personally.
The Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra asks for your understanding of the impact of the measures on our organisation. As soon as there is new information available, it will be posted on our webpage page.
“We comply with the advise to work from home. Due to the measures, we expect a diminished contactability by phone. We kindly ask you to not ask for more information by phone or e-mail. As our office is also closed until April 6, you cannot visit us during this period. We also ask for your understanding of this situation.”
