JK Rowling has revealed she has “completely recovered” from what she believes was coronavirus, despite not being tested for the illness.
The Harry Potter author wrote on Twitter that she had experienced “all symptoms” of Covid-19 over the last two weeks. She also shared a viral video demonstrating a specific breathing technique to be used by those who believe they have the virus.
“Please watch this doc from Queens Hospital explain how to relieve respiratory symptoms,” Rowling wrote.
“For last 2 weeks I've had all symptoms of C19 (tho haven't been tested) & did this on doc husband's advice. I'm fully recovered & technique helped a lot,” she added.
After being bombarded with messages of support from her followers, Rowling returned with a second tweet to reiterate her current health.
The video shared by Rowling sees Sarfaraz Munshi, a doctor at Queen’s Hospital, Essex, and offer advice on methods of breathing which should prevent coronavirus symptoms worsening.
The author has launched an online initiative, which features quizzes, games and other activities.

J.K. Rowling is hoping a dash of Harry Potter will help families confined to their homes during the coronavirus pandemic.
"The teachers, parents and carers working to keep children's lives as normal and happy as possible while we're all on lockdown deserve a bit of magic," Rowling said in a statement Wednesday. "I hope these initiatives will give children and even adults a happy distraction during their enforced stay-at-home time."
