Cardi B urges followers to vote out Trump: ‘We can all win together’

Cardi B appealed to her fans to vote out Donald Trump in the upcoming 3 November US election.
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper posted a series of tweets from the president calling his fans to reflect him. Another showed Trump urging New York to mobilise the National Guard in response to Black Lives Matter protestors.
“NYC, CALL UP THE NATIONAL GUARD” wrote Trump. “The lowlifes and losers are ripping you apart. Act fast! Don’t make the same horrible and deadly mistake you made with the Nursing Homes!!!”
Cardi captioned the image: “Hey guys this is why we NEED TO VOTE! Trump is encouraging his supporters to vote and THEY WILL! They follow everything and do everything he tells them to do.”
The 27-year-old continued, “WE have the power to vote as well. Trump and the Republican Party have a lot of influencers, followers, and supporters but so do WE! All the celebs and influencers we have the same following and THAT'S WHY WE ENCOURAGING YOU TO VOTE!
“This is something that WE CAN ALL WIN TOGETHER.YOU will be a part of change.”
In the wake of the murder of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer, Cardi spoke of being exhausted by peaceful protests and hashtag campaigns against police brutality. She also said that she reluctantly supported the looting that has occurred.
“Seeing people looting and going extremely outraged, it makes me feel like, ‘Yes, finally, finally, motherf***ers are gonna hear us now’,” she said. “As much as people are so against it, at this point I feel like I’m not against it, even though it’s scary and I don’t want anybody to get hurt.”
She said that peaceful protests against police brutality, as well as online campaigns, have so far achieved little.
“Ever since Instagram started, how many peaceful protests have we seen? How many trending hashtags have we seen? These hashtags keep repeating themselves,” she said. “I feel like I’ve done videos against police brutality, I feel like this is my seventh time."
Cardi also encouraged her followers to vote, and not just in the forthcoming presidential election but locally, too.
“We can vote for mayors, we can vote for judges and we can also vote for DAs – district attorneys,” she said. “The people that are voting for these people are most likely cops, most likely rednecks, that’s why every time that some f***ed s**t like this happens, it goes in their favour."
