Renowned Urdu poet and Bollywood lyricist Rahat Indori passed away on Tuesday after being tested positive for COVID-19 in Indore.
On Monday, He tweeted about his health condition, 'My corona test was done… after the initial symptoms of COVID appeared, which has been reported positive. I have been admitted to Aurobindo Hospital, pray that I should defeat this disease as soon as possible.”
Indori, 70, was active on social media. He wrote about the infection on his Twitter handle earlier in the day.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan mourned the death of the poet.
Chouhan said, “The death of Shri Rahat Indori, the famous poet who ruled millions of hearts with his poetry, is an irreparable loss to Madhya Pradesh and the country. I pray to God to give peace to his soul and give strength to his family and loved ones to bear this immense grief.”
The poet was frustrated with long power cuts in Madhya Pradesh amid the ongoing heat wave and shared his pain with state Power Minister Priyavrat Singh on Twitter.
"Electricity failures are a routine nowadays. There has been no power for three hours today. It's Ramzan and hot, and noone's picking the phone in Indore Power company (@mppkvvclindore). Please help," Indori tweeted.
