Cardi B is being sued for defamation in a new lawsuit served by supporters of President Trump.
As reported by TMZ, the rapper has been accused of defaming a group of Trump supporters by calling them racist following an incident at a Hamptons beach earlier this month.
The plaintiffs – Peter Caliendo, Pauline Caliendo and Manuel Alarcon – have named the rapper’s sister Hennessy Carolina in the suit as well.
According to the report, the plaintiffs claim that they were enjoying themselves at Smith Point beach when Cardi and her sister approached them and proceeded to insult them because one of them was wearing a MAGA hat.
Cardi B shares a picture on Twitter.
They are arguing that the rapper’s labelling of them as “racist” is inaccurate and that they were approached by the rapper only because of the MAGA hat.
At the time of the incident, Cardi – real name Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar – had tweeted a video which apparently showed the pair confronting the plaintiffs after they allegedly harassed Carolina and her girlfriend, Michelle Diaz.
The Trump supporters, however, are arguing that the video was edited.
Cardi also shared a voice recording of her sister apparently explaining what had occurred, in which she says the plaintiffs had been the ones to initiate the confrontation.
