The Iraqi author Yousif Al-Azawi, founder of Old Book publishing house, and member of the Publishers Association, has praised the Sharjah International Book Fair, in which he is participating for the first time.
During Gulf Today’s exclusive interview with Yousif, he said, “The coordination of this year’s book fair deserves praise, for which the Emirate of Sharjah has successfully managed to attract writers and readers from all over the world despite the presence of coronavirus, with complete safety and precautionary measures which contributed in the success of the book fair.”
“It is an outstanding contribution from His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah, to exempt participants of this year’s book fair from all fees, and his constant support to youth and talented writers to present their best works to all readers,” Al Azawi stated.

The Iraqi-bases publishing house “Old Book” has contributed in presenting young authors and their work, as well as shed light on new ideas that help readers find their passion through the published books. “It was time for publishing houses to take a step towards readers instead of waiting for their approach and search for books, by promoting and looking for what the reader is looking for,” he said.
The 25-year-old writer Yousif Al Azawi presented two of his books at this year’s Sharjah Book Fair, under the name of ‘I Got Her Love’ and ‘Happiness Talk’, which gained great attention and demand from readers and visitors of the book fair.
The two academic books present life-examples and experiences, which many people go through after a failed relationship or an unsuccessful achievement. It shares positive experiences and methods that can help one find their inner-self and motivate readers to keep searching for success and happiness in various ways despite their failure.
Al Azawi revealed his book’s dedication which is aimed at all types of readers, saying “A dedication to searchers of happiness, those who seek it but still not find it anywhere; a dedication to those who had depression knock on their doors, who thought that life cannot bear or accept them anymore.. This book is a guidance for you.”
