Barbara Windsor has died at age 83, according to a statement by her husband reported the media on Friday.
The British actress is popularly known for her role as landlady Peggy Mitchell in the soap “EastEnders.”
According to the statement, she passed away on Thursday at a London Care Home. Prior to her passing, she suffered Alzheimer’s/Dementia, she was diagnosed in 2014.

She debuted as Peggy Mitchell in 1994, she went on a sabbatical in 2003 and later quit the show in 2009.
Prior to EastEnder, Windsor made her acting debut in “The Belles of St Trinian’s” in 1954. She also acted in “Carry On” in the 1960s and 70s.
