Leading actress Mahira Khan has confirmed in a post on social networking site Instagram that she has been diagnosed with COVID-19 and is now isolating herself.
The beauty queen said, "I took my corona test which came positive, after which I quarantined myself. I request my friends who have been with me for the last few days to also take their corona test.
"This is a painful time for me but I will recover very soon.”
She urged people to wear masks and strictly follow all other SOPs "for your sake and others.
"Love Mahira Khan,” she said followed by a heart emoji.
Mahira is Pakistan’s most popular and highest-paid actress and model. She has also worked in the Bollywood film “Raees”in 2017. Khan was on the list of the BBC’s 100 Women series announced on 23 November 2020.
Pakistan’s government has urged people to strictly follow the precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

However, some artists from Pakistan showbiz industry could not strictly follow the SOPs due to their work, which led to the spread of the virus in the industry. Recently Behrooz Sabzwari, Neelam Munir, Yasir Nawaz and host Nada Yasir also contracted the coronavirus.
Leading actress Aliza Shah, Noman Sami, Rubina Ashraf, Sakina Samu, singr Abrar-ul-Haq and host Wasi Chaudhry have also fallen victim to the disease.
Comedian and host Shafaat Ali has also contracted the coronavirus.
Usman Mukhtar and Amir Gilani, the two lead actors of the drama serial 'Sabat', also recently shared the news that they have contracted the coronavirus.
Model Sahifa Jabbar Khattak and singer Jawad Ahmed also confirmed that they have been infected with the disease.
