Gorman's other forthcoming title, “Change Sings: A Children's Anthem,” is also now a bestseller on Amazon.
Both books are due to come out on 21 September, 2021, via Viking Books.
The National Youth Poet Laureate stated that she wanted “The Hill We Climb” to be a “message of hope and unity.”
The Los Angeles native’s accomplishment, which saw her follow in the footsteps of other inaugural poets, including Maya Angelou and Robert Frost, was met with an outpouring of praise from viewers on social media.
Gorman received plaudits from a slew of high-profile politicians and celebrities too following her recital at the inauguration ceremony.
These included Michelle Obama, Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey and Lin-Manuel Miranda among others.
Hillary Clinton joined in the chorus, tweeting, “Wasn't @TheAmandaGorman’s poem just stunning? She's promised to run for president in 2036 and I for one can't wait.”
In 2014, Gorman was named the first Youth Poet Laureate of Los Angeles, and three years later she became America’s first National Youth Poet Laureate.
