Bakhtawar got engaged to Mahmood Choudhary on Nov.27, 2020, in a private ceremony held at the Bilawal House Karachi. A limited number of people — including the city's bigwigs, business magnates, politicians, and lawyers — were invited to the event.

The spokesman said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari suspended his political activities for a week to participate in his sister’s wedding.
The Bilawal House also said that close to 1,000 guests were invited to the wedding.
The statement added that the invitations were also sent to the important political leaders of the country including military leaders and judicial heads.
