In Chopra’s new autobiography, Unfinished, the actor recalled that after she was crowned Miss World in 2000, the first director she met with suggested that that she should fix her “proportions”.
“After a few minutes of small talk, the director/producer told me to stand up and twirl for him,” she wrote in her book.
“I did. He stared at me long and hard, assessing me, and then suggested that I get a b**b job, fix my jaw, and add a little more cushioning to my butt.
“If I wanted to be an actress, he said, I’d need to have my proportions ‘fixed’, and he knew a great doctor in LA he could send me to. My then-manager voiced his agreement with the assessment.”
Chopra said she left the meeting feeling “stunned and small”. She parted ways with her manager soon afterwards, according to the Independent.
Bollywood star Chopra is one of India's highest-paid and most popular entertainers. She has starred in the Indian films Kaminey, 7 Khoon Maaf and Barfi, to name a few. She has also had a Hollywood career, having starred in Baywatch and Isn’t It Romantic?
