There’s a treat in store for ardent followers of the royal family.
Kristen Stewart will portray the role of Princess Diana in the forthcoming biopic “Spencer,” which chronicles three decisive days in the life of the late Princess of Wales, according to TNS.
A new image of Stewart as Princess Diana has now been released, and it bears striking resemblance to Lady Diana.
The 30-year-old American actor’s look in the movie directed by Pablo Larraín has been meticulously styled to emulate Diana’s, even down to the accessories.
The first look of the star in full costume was released in January, showing Stewart's strong likeness to Diana in a red coat, blonde locks and a black hat with delicate netting over her face.
In the newly released image, the American actor is seen smiling directly to the camera. She is wearing a layered blonde bob reminiscent of Princess Diana’s famous hairstyle.
The ‘Twilight’ star has also donned a red and green tartan blazer for the photo.

The late royal owned a similar garment and wore it on two notable occasions.
Eagle-eyed viewers have also spotted Stewart’s ring, which is a replica of Princess Diana’s diamond-encrusted oval blue Ceylon sapphire engagement ring.
Diana's oldest son Prince William later proposed marriage to Kate Middleton with the famous ring, which she still wears.
“Spencer” is set over the course of a weekend in December 1991, during which Princess Diana “spends the Christmas holiday with the royal family at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, and decides to leave her marriage to Prince Charles,” according to a synopsis released by the film’s production company Neon.
“December, 1991: The Prince and Princess of Wales’ marriage has long since grown cold. Though rumours of affairs and a divorce abound, peace is ordained for the Christmas festivities at Sandringham Estate. There’s eating and drinking, shooting and hunting. Diana knows the game. This year, things will be a whole lot different,” reads a second summary.
Stewart described “Spencer” in a statement as “a dive inside an emotional imagining of who Diana was at a pivotal turning point in her life.”
Filming has been taking place in Germany, but has now moved to the UK.
The film is currently scheduled for release later this year.
