Hundreds of boats briefly line up across Lake Geneva on Sunday in an artistic representation of the border between Switzerland and France.
Artists work on the boats and prepare them to be displayed.
The invisible border runs for 59 km (36.7 miles) down the middle of the waterway.
More than 250 vessels signed up for the event.
The paper boats done up artistically are seen.
This artistic event called "Brief Alignment" was initiated by Lausanne architect Bastian Marzoli, in Saint-Gingolph, near Geneva, Switzerland.
Colourful paper boats are displayed at the event.
The boats were represented by artists and activists as well-wishes for the delegation of the National Liberation Zapatista Army (EZLN) who are travelling on a boat called "La Montana" to Europe, in Mexico City.
