Leading actress Ayesha Omer also took to her Instagram and shared photos and a video to show support for Palestine.
Ayesha captioned the photo with a heart-touching message and said, “My country, my people, stand with Palestine. Marching and protesting for Palestine and its people, today, in Karachi. For the innocent civilians and children being killed in the name of self-defence. For humanity. For the human rights being violated every day. For the ethnic cleansing and oppression that the people of Palestine are facing.”
“We pray that Palestine stands free one day….very very soon. We pray for the ones departed. We pray for the families suffering. We pray for this nightmare to end. We pray, protest and raise our voices for the world to sit up and to put enough pressure to stop this genocide.” The actress further said, “The turnout, energy and unity today was so heartening.
So many young boys and girls, students, and children came out to protest. It is very important to raise your voice, very important to go out there and be heard. Silence means you’re OK WITH WHATS HAPPENING. And I am definitely not OK. WE ARE DEFINITELY NOT OK. I stand with Palestine."
Since the fighting began on May 10 in Gaza, some 228 Palestinians have been killed. Nearly 450 buildings in the Gaza Strip have been destroyed or badly damaged, including six hospitals and nine primary-care health centres, the United Nations humanitarian agency said.
Some 48,000 of the 52,000 displaced have sought shelter in 58 UN-run schools and more than 52,000 people have fled their homes and most are sheltering in UN-run schools.
