A hot air balloon in the form of a giant human head was seen flying in Tokyo on Friday, astonishing residents and visitors of the city, who stared at the strange scene, which seemed to be a piece of art by a surrealist painter, according to Japanese media reported.
The art was hovering over Yoyogi Park.
The piece called "Masayume", which was inspired by a dream that an artist had when they were in middle school.
The balloon suddenly appeared in the sky and shocked many people, while others expressed admiration for the innovation.
The project, which was supposed to coincide with the Tokyo Olympic Games, was a collaboration of artists, Tokyo city authorities and a number of other organisations.

The huge balloon is said to be over 20 metres long.
“We were upset about the project being unveiled in the midst of the pandemic, but we hope that by seeing the face of a stranger, it will reflect on the meaning of human coexistence,” said Kenji Minamikawa, 41.
