With the opening date of the world's largest exhibition approaching, Emirates Airlines has launched a new global campaign that invites visitors to experience the unlimited possibilities of Expo 2020 Dubai.
The promotional campaign, featuring world-renowned superstar Chris Hemsworth, explores the futuristic themes and the amazing experiences that Expo 2020 Dubai will offer when it opens its doors to the world on Oct.1.
Reem Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General of Expo 2020 Dubai, said: “We have partnered with Emirates Airlines to produce a bold and exciting campaign that we believe will resonate with people around the world, inspiring them to come and experience Expo 2020 Dubai for themselves.
“Expo 2020 Dubai will be one of the greatest must-see events in the world, with magnificent pavilions that immerse visitors in the themes of mobility, sustainability and opportunity, 191 pavilions from around the world, as well as unforgettable celebrations of music, art and culture, rich entertainment programs, unique culinary experiences and much more.”
Commenting on the importance of Expo 2020 Dubai in shaping a brighter future, Chris Hemsworth said, “In 2019, I partnered with Emirates Airlines and Expo 2020 Dubai to spread awareness of a truly inspiring global event. We all have the power to shape a better future, and the past year and a half has shown us that the possibilities are endless when minds come together.
“At Expo 2020 Dubai, the world will come together in a spirit of cooperation to provide realistic solutions that will benefit future generations. I sincerely hope you can make it happen if you are able to travel safely.”
The ad, which was designed and filmed before the spread of Covid-19 to coincide with the original opening date of Expo 2020 Dubai, aims to spread the energetic spirit of innovation, creativity and the quest to create a better future, which are all major themes of the global event.
With a multi-image approach to storytelling, the ad is enhanced by countless CGI animations and visuals to illustrate what the event will look like, filmed while the Expo 2020 site was still under construction.
In the ad, Hemsworth transports viewers from Dubai's famous beaches and through its stunning skyline to the site of Expo 2020 Dubai, adding vitality to the pavilions of the pioneering event in mobility, sustainability and opportunity, in addition to providing a view of the excitement and celebrations expected in the various pavilions of the participating countries.
The ad shows a seamless transition, interpersonal interaction, and a fictional world of future possibilities, including interactive jungles and forests and a Mars mission, all of which represent what the event will present to humanity.
The Pure Imagination soundtrack was created and performed by an orchestra of 70 musicians with a children's choir.
Children from different cultures and backgrounds play a prominent role in all advertising scenes, highlighting the role they will play as the leaders of tomorrow.
The ad was directed by two-Oscar winner Robert Stromberg, whose film credits include Avatar, Alice in Wonderland and Disney's Maleficent.
The graphics were done by the Oscar-winning motion picture production and visual effects company MPC.
Recently, Emirates Airlines, the first partner and official carrier of Expo 2020 Dubai, launched an exclusive offer for customers to experience the excitement of the World Expo. Under the offer, the airline will provide its customers, visiting or traveling through Dubai from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022, free one-day entry tickets to Expo for every ticket on an Emirates flight.
The offer includes all classes, in addition to tickets booked through Emirates for flights on flydubai, and customers who fly to any destination on the Emirates global network with a minimum layover of six hours in Dubai.
Expo 2020 Dubai will be held from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022, coinciding with the Golden Jubilee of the United Arab Emirates.
The exhibition will bring the world together and help to leave lasting memories for all those who visit the event through the unique experiences it brings to them.
