A busker has gone viral after stopping mid-song to give a man money for food – and immediately receiving “good karma” afterwards.
TikToker and singer Liv Harland (@livharlandmusic) had been singing on the streets of Manchester city centre, while someone filmed her performance, when she spotted a man who was clearly in need.
In the clip, the man can be seen to the left of the shot, rummaging through a bin looking for food. He eventually finds some chicken nuggets which he takes to eat.
Noticing the man had picked up the discarded chicken nuggets, Liv abruptly stops singing, walks over to the man and kindly offers him some help, asking: “If I give you money will you get fresh ones?”
When the man agrees to this, Liv immediately takes banknotes from her money pot to give to the man so he can get fresh food.
After she hands him the money, Liv tells the man: “Promise me you’ll get fresh ones,” and the man nods before saying “thank you lovely” and walking off.
Only a few seconds later, Liv’s selfless gesture is immediately repaid (quite literally) when a generous man who had just witnessed the exchange gives the singer double the amount of money she gave away in the first place.
“A kind man gave me double what I gave the man! Good karma I say,” the on-screen caption read.
Since posting the wholesome interactions, Liv’s TikTok has received over 15.3m views, along with 3m likes and thousands of comments from people who were touched by the thoughtful actions.
One person wrote: “The fact you didn’t even think twice such a kind heart.”
“AW HE WATCHED IT ALL HAPPEN and saw how kind you were,” another person said, referring to the man at the end of the video.
Someone else replied: “Anyone notice the guy at the end watched her - then he repaid her kindness.”
“‘Sharing will not make you poorer,’” a fourth person added.
It just goes to show that it pays to be kind.
