Model Ireland Baldwin has weighed in on the Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard trial and she doesn’t mince her words. Taking the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star’s side in his defamation lawsuit against his former wife, the 26-year-old model called out the “Justice League” star, reports aceshowbiz.com. Baldwin took to her Instagram Story to share her two cents on the highly-publicised trial.
She shared a screenshot of a tweet about Depp’s reaction to an audio tape in which Heard admitted to hitting the actor. “The thing is, I know women who are exactly like this,” Ireland wrote over the screenshot. “They are manipulative and cold and they use their very womanhood to play victim and turn the world against the man because we live in a society where it’s cool to say men are all the worst and blah blah blah.”
The daughter of Alec Baldwin continued: “Men can experience abuse too and this absolute disaster of a human being Amber Heard is a terrible person and I hope Johnny gets his reputation and his life back.” Showing her support for Depp, she added: “And I hope he’s in like 5 Pirates movies.” Johnny and Amber have been meeting in a Virginia court for the defamation lawsuit he filed against the actress in 2019. The “Edward Scissorhands” star has taken the stand and claimed that he never struck Amber or any woman in his life, reports aceshowbiz.com.
He also detailed her reported substance abuse use, saying that he had seen her taking high velocity stuff in speed throughout their relationship. Amber’s lawyer, meanwhile, has presented evidence of Depp’s substance abuse, including a photo of the actor passed out on a couch in Boston with ice cream spilled on his pants, another showing a table full of a glass of drinks and other stuff and a Keith Richards CD. Depp admitted the last photo was snapped at a time when he had “fallen off the wagon”.
Depp has turned up for the trial in Fairfax County Circuit Court with his hair tied back in a ponytail, earrings and chunky rings. He has favoured three-piece suits in court and wore an all-black ensemble on Thursday - black suit, black vest, black shirt and black tie. The Texas-born Heard, who had a starring role in the movie “Aquaman,” has gone mainly for black pant suits and a change of hairstyle each day. She has remained mostly stoic during Depp’s testimony, listening attentively, whispering with her lawyers and taking notes on a yellow legal pad.
She did noticeably flinch when a video was shown on Thursday of an angry Depp slamming cabinet doors in their kitchen. The actress was also clearly distressed when an audiotape was played for the jury during which she pleaded with Depp not to cut himself with a knife. Heard’s attorneys have alleged that Depp would become a physically abusive monster when he was drunk or on illegal drugs and have questioned him extensively about his substance use.
