Indian food is extremely scrumptious. There are no two views on this. The famed chicken tikka masala is a universal favourite, perhaps as or even more popular than the British fish and chips. Who does not love tandoori chicken, palak (spinach paneer), naan or aloo paratha? Or even the quintessential chicken or mutton biryani, be it from Lucknow or Hyderabad?
The dishes represent a smorgasbord of cultures that India is so rich in, each a runaway hit in its region but making a global splash at the same time. Hollywood stars are among celebrities drawn to the lipsmacking dishes, be they Brad Pitt, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Tom Cruise or even Madonna who loves South Indian food. Julia Roberts is a great fan of Indian cuisine; her movie Eat Pray Love was filmed in India not long ago.
Now Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds also joins the aficionado bandwagon. He has revealed where one can find the 'best Indian food in Europe': a curry house in a small Cheshire town.
The Hollywood actor, 45, was all praise for the Light of India Balti House in Ellesmere Port as he shared a picture of the restaurant's menu.
Posting the picture to his Instagram Stories, Reynolds, who co-owns the football club Wrexham said: "Best Indian food in Europe."
He didn't divulge details however on what he ordered from the eatery.
A staff member said they were happy to see Ryan's post but have been so busy they have no idea when the 'Deadpool' actor ordered from them.
The Light of India was established in 1980 as one of the area's first Indian restaurants, according to Indo-Asian News Service.
Reynolds and Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney are currently in the UK ahead of the launch of their Welcome to Wrexham documentary next week.
