Selena Gomez became the first woman to surpass 400 million followers on the Instagram platform.
Gomez achieved this achievement less than a month after she removed Kylie Jenner from the title of the most followed woman on the social media platform for publishing photos and videos, when the number of her followers reached 381 million followers, according to the “Billboard” website.
This number came after Selena Gomez resumed her activity via Instagram last January, after she stopped using the application 4 years ago, due to what she described as her unhealthy relationship with the platform.
Gomez entrusted the task of managing her account to a member of her assisting team, due to her strong influence on the platform that was obsessing her thinking all the time, until she reached a stage where she hated seeing her features without makeup, because of her habit of appearing with aesthetic effects in her photos published on Instagram.
Last month, there were rumours about disagreements between Selena Gomez and Kylie Jenner, which the latter denied, according to the Los Angeles Times, which confirmed that Gomez considers herself a fan of Kylie, but those rumours seem to have motivated some to take the singer's side to gain 20 million followers within 4 weeks.
Selena Gomez's celebration as the most followed woman on Instagram with 401 million followers, matched by the numbers of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, who are the two most followed people on the platform, as the first has 562 million followers, while the second is followed by 443 million people.
